This inter-professional conference is now in its third year and once again sold out due to demand. The theme this year was on Safety and Quality: The Value and Impact of Simulation Based Education and Human Factors.
We were very fortunate to have secured two excellent key notes speakers, Dr. Nigel Packham, Manager of the Flight Safety Office at NASA, and Dr. Mike Webb, Medical Director of Ulster Rugby, who spoke about how simulation and human factors training has improved safety within their respective fields.
The annual autumn Conference was held for the second year at Riddel Hall on the 20th October 2017. The conference was entitled “Theory into practice: Using simulation and Human Factors training to improve patient Safety”. This inter-professional conference attracted healthcare professionals from many different disciplines to include nurses, doctors, dentists, pharmacists, resuscitation officers, technicians and clinical academics and was massively over-subscribed reflecting the interest and enthusiasm for simulation based education.
